A Far Superior Primate is a modern rock band based in the north of England by members drawn from around the  U.K. Rising from the ashes of popular post grunge progressive rock band Meonia Void, the tight quartet of Dave Nutter (Drums), Gary Solomon (Bass), Simon 'Smurf' Murphy (Keys & vocals) and distinctive front man Jum Sharpe (Vocals) quickly recruted long time friend and multi-instumentalist Lee Redhead (guitar) and began to shake off the shackles of their progressive roots in favour of a more out and out post grunge rock feel. In just a few months at the end of 2009 the five had evolved into the towering rock machine tha stand on stage under the banner "A Far Superior Primate".
